IS200t - Boost issue
#48
After 18,000 miles of crossing my fingers, my boost regulator has started to fail . Going to the dealership on Friday to get the issue resolved, has anyone with a new regulator had it fail again? I know some people have had to change theres over 3 times but Im just hoping Lexus has revised the part since the engine is still being sold.........

Hesitation when accelerating above 3000rpm on Lexus NXFAULT:
We have a customer with a 2015 Lexus NX 200 who is complaining that they have a hesitation when accelerating above 3000 rpm. There are no trouble codes stored in the ECM fault memory. We have experienced the hesitation on road test but have not been able to locate the fault in the workshop.
FIX:
This fault affects several Lexus models with 8AR-FTS engine code up to 12/16. The fault is due to an unsatisfactory design of the turbocharger (TC) wastegate regulating valve. Inspect the production number on the TC wastegate regulating valve (see Fig 2.1). If the production number is before 16 T 217, replace the TC wastegate regulating valve with a modified version . Carry out a road test to confirm fault has been rectified.

Wow, kinda worrisome that its reaching as far back as the first turbo engine on the NX. The part itself is 100 bucks but i have no idea about labor. I know a couple of guys on this page have changed it themselves .
Anyone down with making a tutorial video ahah?
But this does look like there is an updated part which is good news the old part number is 25819-0W010- anyone have the new part installed?

Lexus has replaced the part with the same part number - not sure if it was revised but I hope its a newer part. Car is back to normal will update if the part ever fails again!

How easy was it to replace it yourself before you relocated it? Mine needs to be replaced again and I can’t take it to the dealer so I’d like to try it myself. Would you mind posting a DIY if you have time?

i imagine though your 2nd, 3rd regulators were newer than my car so I'm not sure how the build date can have anything to do with it. maybe the humidity in FL? I'd still like to crack one open and see what's inside. is the valve being clogged by soot? is there a filter backing up inside??
