My GS400 SRT intake filter is very dirty. I did a search, but the threads (that appeared) were of no use. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips of how to clean the filter?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I can help (I have two filters that get dirty all the time in my TT setup).
You will need a filter cleaner kit (Hopefully you have one, if not, then order a K&N filter cleaner kit, or call SRT).
1. First spray the filter with the cleaner, and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes.
2. Using a sink, place the faucet of the sink into the filter, and run the water to get the dirt out. You may want to check each of the filter trenches to make sure there isn't anything large such as leaves, paper, etc.
3. Rotate the filter, making sure every part of it gets sprayed with water.
If you filter is really dirty repeat 1 thru 3 again.
4. Let the filter air dry. I usually help it out by holding the filter from the inside, and "whipping" the water out. Either way, the filter should be dry inside and out. This is so when you oil your filter, it is bone dry. Water/Oil don't mix.
5. Take the filter oil spray that comes with the kit, and try to spray the filter evenly with lite coating of oil. Let it sit for 25 minutes. You don't need alot because the oil will distribute when it sits. Make sure you get all of the filter evenly. DO NOT USE ALOT OF THE OIL! Too much can interfere with your O2 sensor.
Thats about it. Hope this helps.
