Default Serpentine belt problem?

Just wondering if anyone has seen a belt do this? The red on the outside isn't raised or anything. I think I can occasionally smell it. The car has 60k on it. Is this common? Should I try to just replace the belt? Is the tensioner adjustable, something that needs replaced too? It occasionally would squeal when wet or humid. The harmonic balancer on the crank pulley appears to wobble a smidgen, but not sure if that has any bearing on what's going on. No other pulleys seem to wobble or seem to be under any stress. The belt seems a touch loose, but not too bad.

The car is returning to the Lease company within about 10 months, so I wanna get by with the least $$ possible. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am not seeing what the problem is...
Is it the color that you're worried about?

* You need to check tension on the belts.
* 60K sounds close to belt replacement time. You might want to replace them.
If you think about it, belts are the cheapest things to replace (in comparison to the things that they service by driving the components in your engine). Also, being wear items, they are not under warranty and there is a good chance that you would pay for the damage caused by a failed belt out of your own pocket.
* Also, have other things (water pump) checked along with the belts.

i believe the timing belt on the GS4 is a 90k service item, it's only $30-40.00, it's not hard to replace. A few members have DIY pages on this item. PM me and i can get you the info if you can't find it.

I hear some members changed the water pump since they had everything apart, but it may not need it, it's another $100 from the dealer.

Squealing might indicate that the belt tensioner pulley might need replacement!....BTW..i'm not sure what's causing the red tinting on the belt itself....??

i have 90K kilometers on mine (Canadian) and my belt would started squeaking a couple of months ago.. once in a while. What i did was i left the engine running, opened the hood and sprayed (1 squirt) WD40 on the pulley and the squeak went away. Never returned since. I will have it replaced soon.
