Default 10% off PPE Headers at Figs for Black Friday through 11/27

Posting since I haven't seen these on any significant sale throughout the rest of this year. Basic IS350 RWD headers are $764.24 after the promo code.

Promo code is BLACKPPE. They also have some other promo codes for different items here: http://www.shopfigs.com/v3/PACKAGE-D...iday?limit=100

Headers promo page: http://www.shopfigs.com/v3/PACKAGE-D...day/cat-bf-ppE

I'm thinking about buying a set...does anyone have experience with the ceramic coating options: Glacer Black Cerakote (2000 °F) vs. Polished Silver Glacer Cerakote (1300 °F) vs. bare stainless? I'm assuming you would want use header wrap or some sort of spray on the bare stainless option.

Read up a little bit on the ceramic coating, apparently it retains more of the heat within the headers to accelerate the exhaust gases faster, and keeps the engine bay cooler.

I've had 2 sets of ceramic coated PPE Headers (UL and ELLT). My first set was the silver and my second set is the black. No issues with either set in the hot Arizona summers. However, my choice today would be black.

So i saw Ross Performance Damper so I thought might be reasonably cheaper than ATI.

Blow me down!

Aussie dollars yeah but wow still expensive.

Or I am a cheapskate.

FWIW: I would never ever ever wrap a daily driver unless it was cast turbo pipe and I needed to keep something from incinerating in the engine bay. In short, it absorbs moisture during cool down and accelerates rust out. So, don't do this to a steel tube. Be careful doing this to some SS tubes. This next statement has nothing to do with the quality of any materials mentioned here but the fact is, tubes only need to contain 10.5% chromium to qualify as SS. This is not enough to prevent rust out.

304 kicks it to 18% chromium and 8% nickel while 316 contains 16% chromium, 10% nickel and 2% molybdenum. The molybdenum is added to help resist corrosion to chlorides like sea water and de-icing salts.

PS - I ran steel painted long tube headers on my V8's and never had a rust out on DD where it rains a lot (lasted 20 years). Wrapping the header would have killed it. Also, road salt is not used in the winter here.

There are likely 100 of formulas for material composition to combat, wear, shear strength, heat, cold, caustic solutions and all of that. Like a cheap SS sink in a rental house can rust and or corrode as it was made by the lowest bidder. Stuff like that. And of course bolts vs tubes, vs crapy sink, vs non-wearing fixture. So many different applications too.
