Default F-sport Mid Pipe

Hello,

I got a IS250 -06 with almost 240 000km (150 000 miles?) on it, I love the car but the mid pipe have basiclly started to fall apart due to salty roads here in Sweden. So I need to get it changed.
Due to strict emission rules I don't want to buy a mid pipe without a catalytic converter and fail the MOT. I have found a used F-sport mid pipe in good condition for a good price, would that fit on my IS 250?
(I have the Invidia catback exhaust) Are there anything to take under consideration?

Thanks!

F Sport mid pipe? I don't think the 2IS had a F Sport midpipe, just the F sport axleback exhaust. Is your car AWD or just a regular IS250 RWD? because you'll have to get the corresponding mid section to match. Correct me if I'm wrong but after the primary cats, the secondary cats are in the mid pipe along with the resonator and doesn't have o2 sensors so it shouldn't trigger any CELs. I'm not sure how strict the exhaust laws are in your area, but if you wanted to go a budget route, you can get a straight pipe welded in.

Yeah I think that you are right, my mistake. The picure that I was shown confused me.
Welding a straight pipe might be a good option then as you mention, or an aftermarket mid pipe. How much do you think removing the cats on the mid pipe would affect the emissions?

If you’re RWD , the invidia midpipe is pretty affordable.

Okay, I will probably do that. I understand that rust/holes underneath the heat shields on the mid pipe is a common issue.
Is it bad to remove them and drive without them until I get a new midpipe? Could it damage anything except the pipe?

I'd just leave it there until you get the new midpipe. I've heard the invidia midpipe might introduce some rasp in your exhaust but I assume you've already looked up the sound clips and are set with that.
