Default Question on PPE headers

gonna get the PPE headers and there are 3 options. 1 stainless steel, 2 stainless steel with polished ceramic, 3 stainless steel with black ceramic. Options 2 and 3 are more expensive by 200 or 300$ but why are they more expensive? Is it for looks or so they don’t rust?
Sorry for the noob questions. Thanks in advance

I had installed coated headers and didn't notice any real difference in under hood temps. These headers are stainless steel and you don't have to worry about them rusting in the long run, it isn't really worth it for you to get yours coated.

Extra protection against internal/external corrosion mainly with likely very mild performance increase, but the 304 stainless steel should already hold up well by itself. You can always ceramic coat them later if you choose not to now.

^^^^I don't think so! You want to install and then pull them off and install again? That would cost a fortune

I agree it would be more economical to do just have PPE do it now, but just letting him know he has the option to do it later if he wants.

Any place that uses road salt and the vehicle is used year round, pay up as that grade of SS will not survive years of it.
Many will notice the welds rusting from moisture in the air as the molecular properties at the welds change from the heat of the weld.
And don't wrap them unless you want them to rust out sooner.
