Tanabe Quad Tip Exhaust
#61
I recently also installed the Medallion Touring-S Exhaust System with Quad Tips (Stainless) on my '18 IS 300 AWD F and it's apparently sold under the REVEL brand now and not Tanabe. I specifically got the one designed for the IS300 2017-2020. It's nice and all but I am just a tad bit bummed out finding out it is manufactured in China now rather than Japan. I also noticed that the quad tips seem to be made just for the fitting and aesthetics of the car because my friend actually pointed out to me (when he was driving behind me) that he can only see one exit hole from the muffler behind the quad tips rather than 4 actual ones (if that makes sense?). This also disappointed me quite a bit. But overall, I am enjoying it more than stock. My new instagram car page is @ryn.isf if any of you want to see pics and sound clips which I will be posting soon.

That's good to know. Maybe you can also answer my question as to why my buddy's IS '17 300 "revs up faster" when stepping on the gas in neutral with his aftermarket borla s-type exhaust in comparison to my '18 300 with the medallion touring exhaust system (since it's basically the same car, both v6). I'm assuming it has to do with the pressure in the muffler as well? His borla exhaust definitely sounds louder too. I believe that this chart applies to my question if you want to take a look below:

That's beyond my knowledge LOL There's too many variables as to why your buddy's IS rev up faster in neutral. Let's face it, our cars are slow unless we supercharge it. Exhaust bolt ons won't be a big night and day difference :'(

Haha you're right in that sense! Definitely lacks the power I wish it had. But in terms on revving up in neutral, i'm speaking upon the sound notes that he is able to achieve in comparison to mine... it even has a small pop or two near redline! Hopefully someone can chime in on this and offer some insight or an answer as to why he can rev up faster. I'm like 95% sure its due to the aftermarket exhaust. Too bad I only drove my car stock for a day before I switched or else I can almost remember it revved up faster before I put on this medallion axle back
