Default turbo or supercharger for is250 soon?

First and foremost, no I dont want to trade to get another car. I love my car. Just wish there was extra torque and a better 0-60 with nice smooth cruising. I own a turbo car already and feel like having a turbo in the is250 would make the car perfect for above average day to day use.

Do we have word on when a turbo or super charger would be coming out for our cars yet? I know they made one for the previous gen, still hoping for one for this year soon.

I want to see this happen too. The RRRacing tune adds 30 some WHP for our car though.

We are willing to do it if we get some deposits.... we can probably price it at $5-5.5k with gains 100-150hp

as you guys know, we own a manual 2007 is250 shop car so it wouldn’t take us long to get this done. I personally daily drive it so I wouldn’t mind having 320whp or so.

BTW, one of the greatest things about the 250 is gas mileage. I can cruise at 80-100mph and still get 30mpg!

Ill post a thread this weekend after we crunch the numbers. Our is350 kit is $6600, but there are many things we can do to reduce cost since many of the components needed to hit 400+whp aren’t needed at 320whp.

My car is finally starting to talk the talk but it’s not walking the walk with only 215 some crank HP. Would love to have a supercharger kit.

This has been discussed in the past. A turbocharger would prove to be to much for a is250. A supercharger would be more fit. The 250 engine isn’t designed to handle the punch of a turbo in terms of torque. However It’s possible to get a small turbo and tune it down. You need to have a really strong power train for a punchy turbo. Unless you plan on forging the internals. That would be interesting not to mention very expensive. I personally thing a pro charger (supercharger) is the way to go it runs off the belt

If that is possible, that definitely sounds pretty decent and worth considering when compared to the headache of upgrading to 350 which is around that for 102 hp gain! Definitely have my attention, have always wanted a whooshhh sound

So just a little update. We crunched the numbers this week and we think we can make a complete and high quality kit with tuning for sub-$5000.

Im actually really looking forward to this project as I really enjoy driving our manual tranny is250 shop car. It would be an absolute blast with about 300whp.

We will start working on it really soon, so you all can expect a major update in December.
