I got this 3M Ultra allergen reduction filter at home depot. Cost about $28 CAD. I can make 4 filters out of this.

3M also makes cabin filters but I don't know if they make one for our cars.

I've cleaned my OEM filter a couple of times (brushed out the leaves and dust). Seems to work well also.

I had brushed and washed the OEM filter, and I think finally it just wore out. I tried both the high heat and lylsol techniques with little resolve. I replaced the filter last saturday with the purolater filter ($17), not carbon fiber though and the smell has drastically reduced (60%). I think I will try the lysol technique again to see if i can eliminate the smell entirely.

Lightbulb Oem a/c filter is the way to go

Dropped by the Gs forum and have to put in my $.02

By installing an a/c filter that does not meet the same filtering cability as oem you run the risk of the cooling fins on the a/c getting dirty and over time reduced a/c efficiency.

I am not familiar with the media of the Gs a/c filter but my Rx has a washable filter. Just use garden hose on ***light*** rinse and let it thoroughly dry. Then spray some anti bacterial spray and install. This is done after vaccuming out the leaves, of course.

Contrary to what the dealer says, the rx filter does not have to be replaced.

I decided to try the rinsing process after vaccuming out the leaves and was going to replace it anyway if it did not work.

Good luck and happy new year to all,

Cheers,

Fern

what I have now is horrendously dirty, and I doubt washable. I received the 'paper' part of the filter from them, and will install. I can always install OEM in a few months after checking the status.
