What Exhaust Are You Running?
#63
As the title states, what exhaust set up are you running on your IS3. Catback or axleback? Manufacturer? A video link if possible.
Just trying to get a feel for the different sounds and manufacturers.
I am leaning towards invidia axelback. Magnaflow and Remark are close options. Tanabe is too quiet from the sound clips I’ve heard.

I had the Rev9 axelback exhaust installed on my 2017 IS350 (originally designed for the RC350). Fitment was great, although it took some adjusting to get the tips lined up horizontally. The Rev9s hang a touch lower than stock.
I think it sounds decent given the price point. It's not overly loud - the Sound Meter app on my phone says its 79 dbs at 3,000-4,000 rpms, which is street legal here - which is what I was looking for. It has surprisingly low drone at idle and low rpms. Drone was more apparent on the highway, but by no means excessive.

PPE headers, RR tune, and intake are probably next for me, and then the midpipe if I can live with the sound. I'm a bit paranoid because of the VPD crackdown on modified exhausts and suspensions. I'd be interested to hear how the Vibrants sound!
I don't know anyone else personally but am going to try and hit up the next Club Lexus Vancouver facebook group's meet.

I've been keeping an eye on the FB group as well but so far haven't been able to make the meetups yet. Hopefully get there and we can compare!
