Possible source for Superchargers.
I was talking to the folks at Alpine Development, who build the supercharger kits for TRD, and I brought up the subject of having only one source of forced induction for GS400/430s (that being RMM).
They would be very willing to explore building an application for our cars if they can get a handle on how many they could sell. The biggest hurdle for them is to get someone to loan them a test car for about 2 weeks. They are located in Garden Grove, CA.
I told the folks at Alpine how much RMM charges for thier kit, and they seem to think it would be no problem to charge half that amount. I'm not really sure how to get the ball rolling on this, but if anyone is interested maybe you could contact Alpine and them know our desire.
Like I said earilier, they build the kits for TRD, and I confirmed with TRD that Alpine is also working on the kits for the V8 Tundra's. So it makes sense that they could build a decent blower for our V8's.
Alpine is a South African company who just recently opened an office here in Cali. The web sites for both locations are:

US: http://www.alpine-developments.us/index.html

It really depends how much gain the superchargers output. I'm willing to pay no more than $5000 for the kit. I may also be willing to loan the car to them only if (1) they damage any part, they will replace it for the same factory part, free and fast. (2) discount on the supercharger kit.

Mr Johnson, I was thinking the same thing, $4500 is pretty damn inexpensive given the lack of SC's available for the GS. The reality of it is pretty much any SC unit offered should have the ability to put out much more HP than kit claims(RMM included), "IF" the right supporting cast is put into place(ie. larger injectors, stand alone fuel management, etc, etc,). The fact that nobody else is making a kit right now, and RMM obviously is having problems moving the ones that they already have, it makes you wonder how many people are REALLY ready to spend the cash for a SC kit.
Like you said, ya gotta pay to play, and that $4500 is looking damn good at the moment!

There have been a lot of threads [some a few years old] on the RMM supercharger. I'm not convinced that the RMM kit is a good buy at half the list price and I'm skeptical of any support longer than it takes to cash the check. RMM put these kits together a few years back and now they are cleaning out the warehouse.
I'm looking for a CARB certified kit that will be installed, tuned and supported long term by a local NorCal shop. Too much to ask?
