IS350 won't start
Fellas,
My IS350 won't start for some reason as it ran fine the day before. I get into my car yesterday and the brake pedal was pressed in which felt weird. I press the Start/Stop button and just clicking sound. So I go to the battery and take off negative post for a few minutes, put it back on and same thing. I take the negative post off again and put a voltmeter on it, reads 11 volts. So I assume its my battery. Anyone ever hearing of this happen? Thanks in advance guys!

Thanks Flash5. I googled this and it showed like 2 or 3 guys saying they had the same issue and once they changed the battery, everything was fine. The battery hasn't been changed yet and this December will be 2 years since I bought my car. So it's probably time.

If it's not that, Lexus batteries (or any OEM battery for that matter) are junk anyway... they don't last long - maybe like 3-4 years tops or less in your case. I'd replace it with an Optima or an equivalent gel-based/maintenance-free battery. I still have my Redtop from 2007 in my daily driver and it's still going strong.

Thanks unicorps. I am going purchase a battery tomorrow morning. And yes my voltage reads 11 VDC. So definitely not enough juice. But do the batteries just suddenly fail like this?

It really could be anything... Maybe somehow your battery had a slow drain/discharge and it couldn't retain a decent enough charge to start the car. It could be that the battery previously had been completely drained and since it's not a deep-cycle battery, now can't hold a working charge. I could also just a fluke and you got a crappy battery too.

Yep that is what I am thinking. BTW my car is a 2014 and looks like the battery has never been changed for years. Going get a new battery in the morning. My dad said that maybe it has a dead cell inside but he even said to get a new one.

Makes the most sense to do so, esp. if the voltage reads 11V at rest. With the car running, it should read 13-14V. As I mentioned earlier, I'd recommend a gel-based battery with decent CCAs so you never have to worry about cleaning off your terminals for gunk/acid.

Not sure what year your car is, but I believe some 2014s had issues with random battery drains. If the voltage at rest reads below 12V, it's definitely the battery going bad with not enough juice to start the car.
