True Dual Exhaust
hello all, i’m new to the forums. i just purchased a 99’ GS400. my question to my fellow Lexus owners is: will true dual make me lose torque?
i’m trying to straight pipe this bad boy, the V8 sounds amazing. i just need a little guidance on how to make my car loud as hell, never owned a V8 so i’m not sure what i should do in terms of “sound”. my goal is not to loose power/too much power. thank you all.

It's your car and to each their own, but I think it's silly when I hear a big saloon like this with an obnoxious exhaust. There are plenty of ways to gain power/torque but not take away from the luxury that these are meant for. To answer your question, true dual isn't really a thing anymore. X-pipe is the upgrade to the old h-pipe design that gives the best scavenging and the most power/torque. But I think the way the exhaust converges and splits in the OEM design is similar to an x-pipe theory already. To be as loud as possible you'd need to straight pipe the exhaust with catless headers and no mufflers/resonators. But there are headers, and systems available that are meant for power and less obnoxious noise. Or take it to a muffler shop and tell them what you want, they'll make you a good flowing/sounding system.
