If $1,500 is your budget, then sell your GS300 and get a GS430, or just focus on handling. You can't make a GS300 fast for $1,500.
Also, unfortunately, there will be reading involved in doing anything, so might as well get started now, with the FAQ thread and other peoples' builds.

Well.. you can get a basic wet nitrous kit and probably safely use 100 shot jets for in the $500 range. 75 at least if you're worried. Then you're faster than a 400/430 with the refilling of the bottle being the only drawback. I'm working on my second nitrous build as we speak. Not on this car though. Do some research on juicing. Very simple and cheap for the power that you'd get from a basic turbo kit.

If you got a 100whp increase, you would be at or just slightly above the whp of a stock GS430.

Yes but the GS300 uses 3.92 gears and would accelerate quicker as I see it. Either way, you can make it quick for relatively cheap is all I'm getting at. Like forced induction, nitrous likes a free flowing exhaust and intake. So the shot would only be better with the basic bolt on's too. Of course, do the same thing on the 400/430, and it's obviously way better. Not like anyone modding their GS3 is out to race GS4s. The comparison does't matter.

Want fast, reliable, cheap pick two.
Reliable horsepower costs $.

Not saying that to discourage, just pointing out that adding power increases likliehood of problems down the road. To obtain a proper balance of things takes time and money.

I have friends with awesome builds and not doing research led to a really sexy car sitting in the driveway a lot.
