Smile 2IS 2006 M/T (broken trany , no replacement tranny available) what should I do ?

So I own a 2IS and its a sweet car , but its been giving me alot of trany problems . Currently in canada there is no secondhand or any replacement available for my car . I dont know what to do because it is a nice car and its fully loaded . So i was thinking if i were to look for a trany from another car is there any that will fit and work ? Or do i have to do an engine swap and get a transmission with it ? Im not too familiar with how engines fit with a transmission so would be very appreciated if anyone could give me some ideas on what to do !

Would help to know what exactly is wrong with the transmission. Just the transmission can be replaced if necessary.

Syncros & the clutch bearing also the bellhousing is broken down the middle where the tranny rod is so it's rubbing against the sides on high rpms.

For future reference, you have a 2IS, and we have a 2IS-specific forum here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...2006-2013-163/

You would likely see a little more traction on 2IS topics there.

I agree with Lex2K, wondering if the transmission as a unit needs replaced, no need for an engine swap. From the bell housing being broken, first instinct is that repairing the transmission may not be worth it.

sounds like a repair that will cost more than the value of the car....

It is hard to believe that in all of Canada, no junk yard has a "second hand" transmission. If true, search for one in American junk yards. There are online sites that will help you find used parts from junk yards for your particular vehicle.
