Default Seat stitch issue

This is a first for me, less then 2 month old , seat stitch pulled.

Have a call into dealer, hope they resolve this for me.

Is it the drivers seat?
Will you take it back to the dealership?

Yes it is the drivers seat. Yes going back to the dealer on the 25th. Hopefully they take care of it w/o giving me a hard time. I have a picture from early July when it started to fray which I will show them if need be.
Wife's IS is a 2021 with similar seats/stitching. Never a problem. Same with my 2018 5 Series or any of my other cars. Hard to imagine how I could have made it fray/pull as if you look at the size of the stitch it would take something really small to hook underneath it.

I would think it should be an easy fix. Please let me know how you make out.

Brought car into dealership, good news is that they are going to replace the seat cover. Bad news is that it is on back order so will be a few weeks.

Nice!

I would've guessed they would deny warranty coverage on it and blamed you for it.

Yes, that was my fear as well. Fortunately I took a pic when it first started to fray and sent it over to the SA. I think that may have helped my cause.

Glad this is going to work out for you PeteinPa....I'm going to make your situation sound so much better, and hopefully give you a laugh..... My work van (MB Sprinter) has been down for a while with an electrical issue, so the RC has been my "work truck" since then. I currently have every tool known to man in my trunk, including a small work bench, and a ladder sitting in my front seat. Good times! Ultimately these seats are very durable and even in my '15, I've had hardly any signs of wear on them other than a very small wear spot on the driver side bolster, which is typical of an 8 year old car.

Thanks. Good to hear yours is holding up well under use. This was surprising to me but glad they are taking care of it.
