Default Hit curb with new car

Just got a 2023 RC 350 F Sport three weeks ago. Put a minor scrape on one wheel while parking at the gym. Not a big deal, more of a "warning" to be more careful. I was not used to the low profile tires but I learn fast.

This damage is small, certainly not worthy of having the wheel "restored" but having said that I wonder if there is any touch up paint out there to cover up this mistake I made? I don't know anything about the color or the name of the color beyond saying that it is the factory wheel / wheel color for the 2023 RC 350 F Sport.

Any help sourcing some paint or even identifying the name of the color is appreciated.

THX
Ray

You posted this in the wrong forum (this is for RC-F not RC F-Sport) but at least your question is relatable across all platforms. You can always buy touch-up paint from the dealer or even Amazon as long as you find the paint code for the wheels (or a close enough "universal" color for black or gunmetal).

Sorry about the mess up as to which Forum I used. Kinda bugged about what I did when I was typing / signing up, have not even washed it yet !!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRGH!

Any sources for chasing down the color code for those wheels?

Please post a pic of the wheel. Are they the dark metallic grey color or black?

I just looked on Google and it says Lexus does not have paint codes for the wheels. You'll just have to go to any parts store and look for auto touch-up paint that matches the wheels.

If it is curb rash, I have been moderately successful with my dremel sandpaper wheel to smooth it carefully.

Thanks for making the effort to do the research.

As to the response "if it is curb rash"? ....the attached pic.

The closest match I could find is paint code 1C6. It is a tad darker but close enough for minor repair. I ordered a small bottle from Automotive Touchup.

If you want to go the extra mile and make it look better, buy 600, 800, and 1000 grit sandpaper and work from coarse to fine and sand down that area. Then apply 2-3 coats of gunmetal or dark grey paint to the area and let it dry. Finish it with a touch-up clear coat.

Thank you Pete!

I will be ordering some touchup tomorrow. Hopefully I learned my lesson and won't need to repair any additional curb rash. I was a bit frustrated about messing up the wheel along with the apparent lack of info / touch up paint support from Lexus.

Another option is to get a set of Rimblades. Will hide the current damage and protect in the future. They have a Graphite color which is a pretty good match. I haven’t installed on my car yet but here is a pic in case you are interested.

Pete

Never knew such a thing existed. They look like a perfect preventative measure for potential curb rash!

Researched on the net....I think this is a product that can work for me. All I gotta do is install these protectors and then be careful and I won't have needed them in the first place! Without the protectors sure as s-it I will get sloppy and whack another wheel at some point! LOL.

Amazon will get an order tonight, if I don't feel good with the color match I can always return rather than install.

Any additional info you can share appreciated.

Ray
