I just noticed that a small cutout piece in my front bumper fell out. It's the shape of a trapezoid and only a couple inches wide. It sits below the light assembly and it looks like there may be some type of sensor in there. I don't see any damage on the car, so I don't think I was hit. Also, the cutout seems clean like maybe this "sensor cover" (or whatever it is), just popped out. Not positive that it's a sensor, but I don't think there's damage as I've not seen any messages pop up.
Anyone know what this is, as I've googled everything and even looked in my owners manual??? Thanks.
That's a mystery to me. I had a 2015 for 9 years until I recently sold it, and my car did not have any such covers. That feature, whatever it is, must have been added to the RC between 2016 and 2020.
Yeah, I can't find a reference to it in the owner's manual or anywhere. My guess is that it's a sensor for lane drift alerts or something like that and there's a thin plastic cover to protect it from road debris. I'm guess a rock or something might've hit it and it shattered. Hate to go to dealership and pay over-inflacted prices, but can't find anything on it.
