dont get me wrong this car has a lot of great attributes, but the weight is a killer. you can mask it, but that doesnt change its detrimental effects...
One of the downsides of the V8. It's been remarked by Lexus engineers before that it's not the lightest engine as the block from the outset wasn't designed as a pure performance engine.

Plus it looks like Lexus hasn't really skimped on the "luxury" either, so a certain level of weight comes from that too. I wonder if Lexus will do a "racing" model with most of the comfort bits taken out. That'd be an interesting car to drive for those that are concerned about the weight for pure track performance.

I agree. But no car is perfect, so yes, gluttony is the RCF's deadly sin. You can't denying this is shaping up to be one spectacular effort on Lexus' part though.

Hows it a pig if it weighs 200lbs more than M3/4???
Not sure why u hating on it. This is a GT car, not a LFA, Lotus or 911.

You do realize this car has NA V8 with 480hp.....thats special in itself PERIOD!
NA V8 is dead - even Ferrari is going turbo.

I like! 480 hp out of the engine is great and the interior is much better than the M4s.

im not hating. im severely disappointed. everything was looking great until i saw the curb weight. and weight is very important. even though it puts up great lap times, the GTR will never be considered a great handling car. its weight holds it back. who knows how the weight will affect the RCF...

M4 is confirmed at 3,300lbs. RC F is rumored to be 3,970. That is a 670lb difference...not insignificant by any means.

GTR is the greatest handling car currently on the market, that AWD setup does wonders no RWD can match period. What you are talking about is probably sensual experience while driving it or perception of driving very extreme, that good feel that makes your adrenalin coming. That's the reason why LFA got the praise cause they got that emotional engagement formula right. If they can infuse that into RC-F they have a winner no matter what track time says. We already know BMW is an emperor when it comes to "telling" its drivers they are driving a sports car when indeed they are driving a GT car.

It should be noted the m4 is listed at 420. If you use 420 then it jumps to 7.86 lb per hp.

Also, the m4 is estimated to be between 3300 and 3500. It's not confirmed to be exactly. 3300 iirc.

But there's no question the 3970 lb curb weight is disappointing.

It's not confirmed. It's "estimated" by motortrend to be between 3300 and 3500.

AutoBlog, Motor Trend, Automobile, Forbes and Edmunds all report 3,300lbs for M4. I can only assume that number must have come directly from BMW to be that prevalent across all media.
