Anyhow, is there confirmation that the engine in the RC-F is still the 2UR-GSE? Or is it an all-new engine?

If it is using the 2UR engine, then I would like to know how we jumped from 416 HP (in the ISF) to 460 HP (in this new RCF)...........given that this engine is naturally-aspirated (aka no force induction).
The 2UR-GSE is a sturdy and a beast of an engine. When ever Yamaha is involved, which they were with the 2UR-GSE and the engine has the 'G' instead of 'F' designation than you know it's a beast power plant.

It was way downtuned in the ISF

A picture is a thousand words, just look at it!

Hopefully in a few years I'll be making some good money and I will get this baby.

moving the threads to owners forums make little sense to me, they just get less replies and we are not owners anyway and not discussing ownership. It is a news thread.

It starts making sense when people start creating multiple threads specializing in different aspects of the vehicle.

Hopefully by then depreciation would have kicked in

At least there will be an F-sport version, hopefully that will retain some of the looks.

hopefully eco mode can keep it in atkinson cycle all the time instead of just at part throttle cruise. im also hoping the electronically controlled cam timing is a version of valvematic. they did say it uses a new cylinder head so....

why would you keep it in atkinson cycle at full throttle?

so? everyone wants higher mpg when you're driving "normal". at least make eco mode a real eco mode.

well, when you are at part throttle in 500hp car, then you are driving "normal" :-)

but i am sure eco will not be atkinson at full throttle... it is a sports sedan with almost 500hp... at full throttle you get full power.

i think it'd be cool to make eco mode more useful by keeping it in atkinson cycle. so even if you're accelerating from a stop, or whatever, it stays in atkinson cycle and thus better mpg.

I can't believe we're talking about this in a small run, low volume high performance v8 coupe lol especially with the same person who wrote the car off because it's 300 pounds more than an M4

Anybody who buys an RC-F and is worried about such a thing is buying way too much car. There are smaller engine variants for people who want the best possible fuel economy. If you want the best fuel economy in any car...don't accelerate at full throttle!

wel first of all i never wrote off the car. i was merely disappointed in the rumored weight.

secondly, this mpg saving tech is probably the only reason this car still has a V8. in city driving who wouldnt want better mpg? this tech doesnt take away from the 460-480 hp when you want to burn dead dinos....

you are not going to accelerate from the stop at WOT unless you want to do a burnout... this thing has almost 500hp.

and yes, you go crazy about 300lbs extra and then you want to accelerate with 120-150hp less because you want to save fuel.

it is funny :-)
