I think for people wanting "more", they will have RC-F, which is already testing around the world as we know.

So if you want power, you will probably get 465 hp there.

As to the being 3IS 2 door... sure but it is a lot less 3IS than BMW 4 series or C class coupe. It even has different wheelbase, significantly so. So it will end up being faster due to less weight.

All I care is 300h or possibly 2.0t.
G37 coupe had more power than the sedans (G35 coupe and sedan as well) unsure what the Q50 route will be
N54 motor was first introduced in the E92 coupes and later adopted by the sedans, then to the rest of the lower series (1-3-5)

so it's been done...and successfully so, BMW and Infiniti has done these trends repeatedly (IIRC), and that's introducing a more powerful engine in the coupe (statement vehicle) then trickeling it through the line

as for those wanting more power, that 465hp option will be about a 10-15k increase...so it's more than just choosing one or the other, price gap will be far between one another to jump up to the want of added hp

as speculation is with the GS-F and what we've seen in articles with sneak reviews/trademark details, immediately folks think under-powered as opposed to M5, E63, etc. this will be the same for the RC350 against the G37 and 335i IMO...most of us don't have a huge issue with the 306hp motor but we're already Lexus owners and interested in the RC, so it's less of importance to us from Lexus headquarters standpoint...all us Lexus fans care about is there finally being a coupe available by Lexus again (for the most part).

based on presence alone, the RC has made a statement...far and wide as it is a really good looking coupe, why stop short with a tweak of the motor only to sell yourself short in that end?

if we could have hope of there being an power increase in the FSport models, then all this is irrelevant talk...but even to that end, all it is is mainly suspension/driving dynamics. 335is has increased power, as does the IPL over the standard G37s.

I'd love to see Lexus pump up F-Sport similar to how Cadillac has just positioned VSport. The CTS now sports a base turbo 4, V6, Twin Turbo V6 VSport and soon the Supercharged V8 CTS-V. I'm all for Lexus following that model for the RC and GS intially wishful thinking though perhaps

Like others have said already this is a very sexy and exciting new ride for Lexus. Once my current lease is up in a couple of years I'm sure this will be one of the choices I'll be looking into as a new ride

I really like pretty much everything about the RC .... except for the rear fender thingies but I guess we'll wait and see if that even makes it to the final production of the RC?

Yep, you can even see the back of the front seat is in front of the B-pillar while the RC front seat is behind the B-pillar.
I agree and hope that it's not going to be useless like the sc430.

The pictures are misleading.

The N55 will be changed next year when the 4series GranCoupe comes out.
Also u are able to purchase Mperf pack to get better HP and TQ numbers.

The N55 is also much more powerful and fuel efficient compared to the Lexus 3.5 v6.
It is heavily underated at 300hp.

What does the 5/7 series have to do with this topic?
RC is based on IS/GS - so what??? This is common practice.

Lexus not updating any of their engines for 5 + years is not normal.

The RC will be reviewed at launch and will be critiqued by the media for having carryover powertrain, and that will take off some of the positives.

RC is a new Model.
Lexus will be advertising and promoting it everywhere im sure. It will be MUCH more beneficial if it comes with a Brand New engine. The publicity would be much stronger esp if its greater than 4series, a5 etc

in this case...even a brand new engine isn't necessary, sure it would be nice to get something completely built from the ground up but just enhancing the current 3.5L is ample enough IMO...worked for Nissan when they opened up the VQ from 3.5 to 3.7, and can surely do the same for Lexus

add to that, GS200t was trademarked in Japan... earlier it was in AU.

i will guess that same engine will go everywhere, depending on the market.

Did I miss something in the article? I thought the turbo was for the NX. They listed the V6 and the 3.5L V6 (RC 350) and a 2.5L 4cyl hybrid (RC 300h) as motors for the RC.

2.0t is being revealed for NX... but it is certainly coming also to RC (and GS, IS, RX?)

RC, IS, GS are likely. For someone just looking for a very nice car without the need for extra power a GS200t with a Luxury Package would be perfect.

RX however interesting thought. I wouldn't mind it, but it may cause too much overlap with the NX. Who knows.

Either way they seem to be making FWD and RWD applications of both the 2.5L I4 Hybrid and 2.0L I4 Turbo for their vehicles.
