I agree they need new engines from a performance and competitive standpoint, but at least you know if you buy one it will be rock-solid for years. We're giving up technology for reliability, but Lexus really needs to start testing new engines. We'll see how the 2.0t holds up in the NX. If it's reliable maybe Lexus will branch out to other forced-induction engines.

The 2.0t will definitely be in the RC - hence no RC250. I think in Australia, RC200t has already been trademarked as has IS200t. It produces around the same power as the BMW 2.0L turbo, and their 428 (which has the 2L turbo) is the volume seller for the 4 series.

I do wonder what engine will replace the 3.5L V6 though; will Lexus do a 3L turbo V6?

Crazy how this will be the same price with options and be incredibly weak in the engine department.

Good luck to Lexus.
If you look at a loaded S5 this year, the list price is $68,400 which is a lot more than you can load on the RC350. Also, no longer a V8 in the S5. The RC350 is more a competitor for the A5 with the RC-F competing with the RS5. Hopefully Lexus with do something in between with a turbo V-6 in the near future.

The reason why I didn;t bought 3IS was for the ancient engines.. I'll not get this for the same reason.. Even if is reliable in long run I don;t want to drive a 12 years old engine in few years from now.

Lexus RC350 Base $42,790
FSport $3,985
NAV + ML $2,610
Fogs $410
Moonroof $1,100
USB $595

About $52k the way I want mine optioned.

Really looking forward to the early buyers (Fall/Winter) giving their feedback so I can pull the trigger in the Spring.

lol Why'd you get another 250? New model looks great in F sport but the is250 is too lazy.. The 350 in eco is probably a better drive than the 250 in sport+

Whats the scoop with Ultrasonic 2.0? Did the color actually change? I hope so, otherwise they are now charging for a color that used to be free.

2.0 is a new paint color. Infrared and Ultrasonic blue are 4 stage paints, hence why it costs another $600

If I order the F-Sport option, what do I order to get perforated leather seats?

The luxury package at $2,700 includes options that are in the F-Sport package, such as driver memory seat and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It would seem like there should be a cheaper package when you order the F-Sport option to get the perforated leather (as well as electrochromic exterior mirrors with reverse tilt and rain-sensing wipers).

Thanks - can't wait!

F Sport should already have perforated seats but they are nuluxe not leather. You cant mix F Sport and Luxury packages

Wow...does that mean you cannot get leather seats with the F-Sport option?
