Two questions on the RC 350

I'm a newbie to this forum and Lexus, as I've never owned one. I'm very interested in the RC 350, as I think it's fantastic looking, is in my price range, and I like what the brand stands for.
I suspect that Lexus dealers here in Colorado won't have exactly what I want (yes, I've put together a configuration
), and can wait until next spring to take delivery.
Has anyone here ever custom ordered one from the factory (or does Lexus discourage that?), and if so, how long does it take?
Also, does Lexus' blind spot monitoring offer an audible beep if you signal to change lanes (when a car is in your blind spot) or does a light just blink?
Thanks in advance. I'd like to be a Lexus owner!

you can custom order from the factory. Have to talk to the dealer to do this and put the order in for you. BSM doesnt beep when your signal is on where a car is in your blind spot, it blinks rapidly. There is beeping for the rear cross traffic alert like when a car is coming when you are backing out. I believe the BSM will also start blinking from where the car is coming from. This is in the same package as the blind spot monitoring.

Welcome to CL!
Lexus does allow you to place orders, though they are not accommodating in the way some of its competitors are. You are still bound by the standard options available. As for length of time, I don't think anyone can answer on that for the RC just yet. It will depend on the ramp up to production, production rates, etc.
As for blind spot monitoring, no, it does not beep if you use your signal while another vehicle is detected in your blind spot. In that case, the light just flashes. I think this is best. There are times when it's acceptable to, for example, make a left turn while someone is on your left hand side. You wouldn't want it beeping at you for that.
Note that rear cross traffic alert does beep, however. If you are backing out of a parking spot and the system detects an incoming/passing vehicle, the BSM lights will flash and there is an audible alarm.

Thanks guys.
One more mundane question: Does anyone know if Lexus offers a spare tire kit that goes under the trunk?
I know the trend is away from making it standard, but I'm willing to pay, especially if it fits under the trunk floor.
