Stopped by a local dealer and got to see and sit in two RC's, a black F Sport with Rioja interior and a nebula luxury with black interior. I liked them both a lot, I'd definitely choose the F Sport for this car, as I would the IS. To me it just better fits the car's character.
They had an RC-F too, in pictures I think the RC-F looks much better than the F Sport, but I liked the F Sport more in person...the RC-F is still better looking IMHO, but the F Sport looks great too.
Loved the tight interior, quality was pretty good, not thrilled with hard plastic lower doors and dash but overall very good.
I'm a fan

While I like the overall interior ambiance of the RC, I too agree with you that Lexus has really downgraded their door panel quality.
Why couldn't Lexus just keep the same door setup as the 2IS?

I'm guessing the entire door of the 3IS & RC is considerably cheaper to produce lol

Yeah the door is much better looking, no question. As for the hard plastic...its not there to be durable...its there as a cost saving measure. The GS and above has a soft padded door.
It should be a padded door in a luxury automobile, the previous IS, ES, RX had padded lower doors...the new ones don't.
But...thats a small issue in an otherwise great looking and feeling interior.

Yeah the F Sport's seats are definitely more bolstered.
