Default RC350 Cylinder Deactivation?

My brother just bought a new RC350 F-SPORT from a DFW area Lexus dealer and the salesman told him that when the green ECO light was on, the engine was running on 4 cylinders to save gas. I've never heard of any Lexus/Toyota products having cylinder deactivation to date. Does anyone know if this is true, or if my brother experienced a typical car salesman tactic of blowing smoke up the customer's @$$?

eco only looks at throttle position. Its a super annoying light and thats one of the first things I turned off when I got an IS. RCF has atkinson cycle but not the 350s. Kinda sad how little salesmen know about the product.

Kinda sad too how easy it is for a salesman to convince the customer of nearly anything, since most people haven't a clue about the car they drive. And to be clear, Atkinson cycle engines have nothing to do with cylinder deactivation.
