Muffler Delete and MPG ?

Actually in a court of law I have won 4 times with my motorcycles, since the officers didn't test the sound with the proper equipment when they pulled me over, and my bikes have full on straight pipes with no resonators.
The job of a LEO is to enforce the laws, not interpret them. Your comments about them is offensive and disrespectful.
I'm done arguing over it.

how would you know? have you heard my exhaust? no you have not, and I live on a street with 4 LEOs and a Federal Marshall, I suspect if they had an issue I would know about it.
I get it, your a grumpy old man that thinks he is more important that his neighbors and has to complain about everything and create animosity and unrest with the people around you..
guess what... your ***** stinks as bad as everyone else's.

Here is the letter I addressed to our city council a few years ago. The Chief of Police was there and told me that he would handle individual noise complaints personally. And he did. So you can smell your stink. lol
"I have lived in the city of XXXX for almost 9 years as of December 2012. Since then I have become more aware of the increased noise within the city limits that has made it difficult for me to enjoy the peace and comfort of my own home. Specifically this noise is produced by modified exhaust systems from vehicles and motorcycles.
The purpose of a muffler is to reduce noise and yet many people modify their vehicles to circumvent this equipment. There is no advantage to make a vehicle louder yet many manufacturers of exhaust systems exist to provide consumers a way to make their vehicles noisier.
Texas has given some guidance toward vehicle noise in the Transportation Code – Section 547.604:
MUFFLER REQUIRED. (a) A motor vehicle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working condition that continually operates to prevent excessive or unusual noise. (b) A person may not use a muffler cutout, bypass, or similar device on a motor vehicle. (Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995)
Noise is defined as unwanted sound. As our society has become technologically advanced through the years more noise seems to be produced and products are sold intentionally to increase this noise.
Many cities have noise ordinance of varying scope to recognize the intrusions of unwanted sounds throughout the community. XXXXX includes a noise ordinance that covers only noise produced by music.
The goal of this presentation is to advocate for a more specific and stringent noise ordinance that can be enforceable. This will provide a community that is more appealing to live and allow homeowners to enjoy the peace and comfort of their own home."

Cutouts are definitely illegal but I would prefer that over the constant noise pollution from permanently disabled exhausts.

Woah came back to the thread and it got crazy! Anyways the exhaust does drone slightly but only in certain rpm/gears. You get use to it and kinda figure out what gear you need to be in to not drone. As for cops, I guess they don't really care but I never gun it near a cop.... I just know how to accelerate where it won't be loud at that moment. The droning is definitely the worst at highway driving 80 mph in any gear but I wouldn't say its horrible. I drove to La to Vegas and back and it didn't really bug me at all.
