Oil change how often?
#17
You guys might say i'm wasting money, but I like to keep it at either 3 months/ 3k miles whichever comes first. I'm lenient and usually go 3 and a half months then do the oil change, cause i don't drive my car a lot.

Every 5k. Which is half of what the manual says. IMO, any more frequent is a waste of money. Any longer, is Russian Roulette..
I've owned a bunch of cars and trucks over the years and this seems to have worked. My motorcycles, around 4k or a year, whchever
comes first.

I just took a peek under the oil cap, it's very clean.

Name calling? I said it was a stupid statement. I know my manual inside out, always have. I’ve looked inside my motor with a scope for that matter. Clean as it was new. No sludge here.

How was it a stupid statement? I'd bet most Toyota techs would recommend 5k oci despite what Toyota says. What's dumb is screwing around with the most vital fluid over 60 bucks. You do you and I'll do me, I'll never go 10k on an oci.

Same here. In my ES300, GS300, IS250, IS350 and now my RC350. Each had at least 125k miles when I traded up except my current RC with 26k. Always used full synthetic Mobil 1 and an OEM Toyota Filter. Never had any issues with my engine here in Chicago with extreme winter and summer conditions.

My ES was sold with 300k and my GS was at 230k. They were tanks. Not saying you're wrong, but that wasn't my experience. I closely keep an eye on my oil color and viscosity when under my hood cleaning my engine bays and I've never had dark oil or sludge.
