Squeaky Brakes on new RC-350 F Sport
#16
I cant remember the last time I had brake squeak and I firmly believe 99% of the time its someone doing a quick job and not cleaning the calipers and lubing the pads before installing. Making sure the guides move freely, the mating surfaces on the back of the pads have some anti seize, and that everything is nice and clean has always worked for me. As for pads I've been using the Akebono performance pads (same manufacturer as our OEM pads) and I get no squeak or squeal, less brake dust and IMO a slightly better bite than stock.

I was able to get rid of the brake squeal by performing the TSB and installing the new part number brake pads and shims. It's been quiet ever since even on the 2-piece rotors.

I made the mistake of taking my car to the dealer last year to get the brakes done. Didn't know they use that squeal stop spray. Was wondering why they kept squealing after I picked it up. I saw on the invoice what they used. Recall reading on here that stuff is crap. Noise eventually stopped after a few months. I've always done brake jobs myself, using the paste. Never once had an issue. Sucks living in an apartment.
