I've decided to go with a blacked out look and I'm also going to see about getting the grille blacked out. I'm going to look into a more permanent solution though.

My concern with using vinyl on the front end is; how often is the vinyl going to need to be replaced due to rocks? I put like 3k miles on my car per month. I don't want to have to get it redone every 2-3 months. With the cost at that rate, within a year I could have just bought a carbon fiber trim piece and been done with it.

It is vinyl yes - and I went to a custom wrap shop in town...Just search your area for similar car wrap shops

I thought about that too but I've had it for over 2 months (8000+ kms) and there isn't a single defect in the vinyl material - so I'm guessing I won't have to replace it more than every 1-2 years depending on how it holds up in the canadian winters
