RC 300 and RC 350 V6 differences
I was wondering what the actual internal engine differences are between the 255hp and 306hp V6 engines.
Example: Forged pistons, forged crank, compression ratio, cam lift/duration, heads, intake, exhaust, etc.
I did a Google search and didn't come up with much.

I suppose if Toyota purposely detuned the engine than you are probably correct. But that seems like a lot of hp (almost 50hp) for just a tune in a normally aspirated engine. Even long tube headers wouldn't get you that much on an older muscle car with a tune.

The 2GR-FSE on both models is the exact same. As noted above, it's only the tune that differentiates the two versions. Torque is severely restricted above 4200 RPMs on the RC300.
One of our CL vendors, RR Racing, recently developed a tune for the 3IS300 which actually gives the car a horsepower advantage over a stock 3IS350 (+38HP from just the tune). Here's the thread for more info:
