Default Lowering question - 2" DROP???

So the whole lowering thing is new to me. Thinking about dropping my BASE RC 300 AWD. My question is this, if the F SPORT is already lowered by an inch or whatever compared to the base, if I put the springs on that some are using on their F Sports (like the Tanabe springs) to lower them more, is the total drop then like 2"+? Does that make sense?

Thanks.

The F sport is lowered using springs, so your car wont sit any lower than a base model if you get lowering springs

The factory F Sport is not any lower than the non-F Sport. Same springs, different shocks.
Hope this helps

Thanks guys. Very helpful.

So when my Lexus parts dept offers F Sport lowering springs, arent they the same ones used on those models?

No. The F Sport lowering springs are an accessory option. I had them installed on my RC 350 F Sport when I purchased it.
I was a little irritated that I bought an RC 350 F Sport but had to pay extra to have the F Sport lowering springs installed.

If you're looking at the Lexus F-Sport springs, consider the Tanabe NF210 springs -- they have a nice clean drop and decent ride quality: http://www.tanabe-usa.com/rnd/post/T...0-F-Sport.aspx

Thanks all for the feedback. I def looked at the Tanabe springs but I am leasing so prob want to keep the springs all Lexus. That being said, the cost I got from my deal for the springs was pretty $$$. About $1100 parts and labor. Like $250 parts plus $850 labor. Not at all what I was expecting.

Get the Tanabe or RSR springs.

Springs install should be like $250 at max.

That's too high. My local Lexus dealership installed the springs and did a 4 wheel tire breakdown to install the F Sport forged wheels for a total of $600 labor cost (sorry I don't know what the breakdown was). Granted, I negotiated the price with them at the time of purchase (lease) before I took delivery of the car. The springs were about $240 parts cost.
I went with the F Sport springs for the same reason you are considering them. I am leasing and wanted to keep it all OEM parts. But if I were to do it again I would probably go with the RS-R down springs as I like the ride height and firmness better than the F Sport springs. Of course it's my wife's car and I don't think she would like the RS-R springs. Plus with the RS-R (and Tanabe) you really have to be more careful with nose clearance and road conditions.
Here is a pic with the F Sport springs.

I have the RC-300 F-sport AWD...and I put "RSR Down" springs on the *front only*. Took a while to find a shop that would do that...but it looks like the way it *should* have come from the factory.
