Default Wheel offset confusion

Hi all,
I just bought a 15 RC350 F sport and the first thing I am interested in is new rims, tires, and lowering springs. I have never bought after market rims before and the question I am not understanding is about offset. Is this something I should be concerned about? I see tons of rims of all styles in 19s and 20s but what do I do about the offset issue. I certainly don't want to buy some rims online only to realize when they get mounted that its looks like crap cause the offset is weird. Is there a rule of thumb with the RC body style? Thanks

Not much help here but here is some info on what i'm running on my RC in case it helps. For springs, I have Tanabe Springs on my RC and i love the drop so I'd recommend that for you. For wheel offset, i too was unfamiliar with the offset but I spoke with a few members on here who offered good advise. You can look through other threads of some setups some people are running but typically the most common offset i have seen people run on their RC is 35 up front and 40 in rear.

here is the thread with some examples.

I'm running a staggered setup on my AWD RC (265/35-19 - Rear / 235/40-19 front). The offset they recommended me for was 35mm up front and +40mm in rear ( common as above).

Thats a very nice setup you have. I love that ride height especially on 19s. From my research, the offset is affected by the width of the rim. So can I ask 2 follow up questions?

1. What is the width of your 19s?
2. When you look at them from the sides, are the flush with the fender or do they stick in a little? Its hard to tell from the angle of the picture.

Just a disclaimer, I am not an expert in any way, but I have learned a few things as I was in your position about a year ago. From my understanding, the offsets do matter, specially if you are looking to fit wheels 20" or bigger on your RC. I provided a link below that helped me when I was shopping for wheels, as well as a diagram that puts this into perspective. Here is what I am running on my car, with no rub on the liner, my car is on a bagged suspension so my ride height is probably similar to what yours will be on springs and I do not rub or have any issues. Here are my specs and a picture of my car when it was on stock suspension.

Front: 20x9 ET 35
Rear: 20x10.5 ET 38

At first look, it appears that your RC350 is AWD. For AWD, generally, all four wheels should be the exact same all around.

offset is just how wide the wheel is like others said, if it’s too wide ur going to rub in the rear

Did you install yourself? Was it difficult for you to do if so? And was wondering what you used to lower your car.

The width is already set. Offset pretty much determines how deep the wheel looks, or how concave it is. Forcaport7 posted a good pic to describe it above.
