Hello I signed up on this forum specifically to ask you members for some HONEST help and advice. Let me start off by saying I've never owned a Lexus nor ever had the intent to buy one but let me say i've seen this car on the road and i absolutely broke my neck in awe! This purchase would be only for the weekends and NOT daily driven. Now the car.
The car appears to be SALVAGED (CarFax) Insurance company says otherwise and the VIN is completely insurable (Accident happened in 2017 so DMV records are accurate) , I will post before and after pictures. The car has 34,000 miles and was rear ended. Judging off the pictures do you think if or what I would check for when inspecting the car and what could go wrong on the vehicle even though it was rear ended.
salvaged vehicles tend to have issues and quirks that become increasingly problematic as the car ages. one of the big reasons people go with Lexus is the reliability... with a salvage, that is nullified since they rarely use OEM parts and it will never be back to Lexus standards. my recommendation is to be patient and look for one that is higher mileage but hasn't been wrecked. There are a lot of 2015's coming on the market now, since the new refreshed 2019+ are out, and many are turning their old ones in
I’d stay far away. As others have said that’s an awful lot of damage, problems could definitely arise if there are none already, and I would be concerned about structural damage as well.
