Default My 2015 RC350 Fsport Recalled

Looks like my 2015 RC350 Fsport requires a new Fuel Pump. Anyone else have checked their cars? Interesting to see how only selected 2015 RC's have been recalled. I was asking in a different page and i was the only one out of the other 2015s that were recalled.

I am interested in what takes place... I just bought a 2015 and would like to know if I need to take it in to the Dealership.
Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I’m also on the recall list.

I checked on mine. It's not on the list yet, but from what I understand they don't
have the list completed as of today. Not a biggie. I have a Lexus dealer close by
and will get it done when the time comes, if it does. I just looked right now and still
not on the list. Mine is a 2015 RC350 Fsport AWD for information sake.
NHTSA.GOV/RECALLS put in your vin # and see if you fit.
I'm not listed on the Toyota site either. https://Toyota.com/recall

Thanks for that tip. This seems like something new to me - a recall in the works.
I put in the VIN (see the initial post for the link) to see what would come up for my 2015 RC (not an F Sport, because I lead a dull and uneventful life), and I got the following messages about a problem with no solution yet. I presume that when the parts and solutions are finalized, I will get the usual notice in the mail. Until then, I can only stew and hope that my car does not "stall at higher speeds." (So far, so good; on Christmas Day I drove from Nashville to Cincinnati at very high speeds, due to the lack of anything else on the road, without a problem.) Below are the notices from the Toyota Official Site:
Title
Safety Recall 20LA01 (Interim Notice 20LB01), Multiple Model and Model Years, Vehicle May Stall During Driving at Higher Speed
Status
Remedy Not Available
Description
The subject vehicles are equipped with a low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This may result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted.
Remedy
Lexus is currently preparing the remedy. When the remedy becomes available, any authorized Lexus dealer will replace the low pressure fuel pump with an improved one FREE OF CHARGE.
Recall Date
January 13, 2020
Dealer Reference ID
20LB01
NHTSA Recall ID
20V012

I read an article on this a bit ago and can't find it again. I think it said the only lexus RCs that were affected were 2015 and 2018 - 2019. There were TONS of other lexus and toyota models listed though.

Edit:
Found the article. Consumer Reports

My 2018 was included in this recall. Unfortunately, when I got in touch with the dealership about bringing my car in for the fix they said that even though they have received the new fuel pumps, they "have not released them for the RC's yet". I was told they will start working on these cars within the next couple of months. Definitely not what I wanted to hear. Trying to hold back on driving as much as usual but it hasn't been easy lol. We shall see how this plays out.

I guess the fact that they go back to several years ago and there has been a low failure rate thus far, it is likely to say that while the effect could be significant if it does fail, the actual number of failure seems very low.

ALSO, AN1: you don't "have to hold back on driving as much as usual," just hold back on "driving at higher speed," which should be easier.
Besides, now with everything closed, there is no where to go anyway.

^^^ so it is proven that the failure is caused when driven at high speed?

Well, I’m screwed then. I love to drive fast.
What do they call high speed anyway?

Proven? All we have to go on is the description by Lexus: "Vehicle May Stall During Driving at Higher Speed."
Higher than what, you may ask.

There is also less people on the road to keep you from driving fast...what are we to do?
