The Lexus dealer we tried to trade it to first gave us a laughable figure and said it would go straight to wholesale since they cant off load RWD cars.

Just food for thought.
That's a valid point, I'll chew on it I usually seek out cars with rare option combinations, so a "driver spec" RC 350 might hold more value in the future for the right buyer. I actually was thinking I'd order a yellow RC, but a) my wife vetoed it and b) the black w/yellow interior doesn't do enough for me. I mention that because yellow cars have a higher resale value...

It looks like I'll be able to test drive a new IS350 AWD F Sport w/ the handling package, so that will give me a better idea about what an RC350 AWD drives like. The only RC I've been able to drive was regular RC 300 AWD (not F Sport). That at least told me I like the basic character of the car enough to be serious about it

One big plus for me in AA81E is that it shifts much quicker especially with more than 50% throttle.
Good info, thanks

I didn't have a choice as to speeds, as I insisted that my RC have AWD. After 5 years, I now know that 6 is plenty, in normal auto mode it's very smooth, and when shifting manually, I seldom go above 4 anyway. I don't know what I would do in a car with 8 or even 10 speeds (like the LC500 - although I did drive one of those for a day, and it's awesome).

Thanks everyone. I drove an IS350 F Sport AWD today, and the drivetrain feels good to me - feels RWD in normal maneuvers, transmission downshifts quickly, etc. There are one, possibly two AWD RCs that the dealer might be able to swap allocations for that are equipped how I would want (besides the RWD-only options like LSD and orange brake calipers). They get zero RWD allocations, so that's a special order for (once/if it's accepted) May/June delivery.
I have some thinking to do....
