Hey guys,

So when my car is at a full stop, the steering wheel stiffens up and the EPS light turns on for some reason. However, when I get the car moving the EPS light turns off and the steering wheel loosens up. Why does this happen?

The EPS light comes on when the computer detects an issue with the vehicle's electronic power steering system. If the computer detects an issue with the system it will set off the warning light to notify the driver of a common problem with your vehicle is a faulty power steering control module (PSCM). Try turning the wheel about 45deg and wait til light goes out. This sometimes will reset the EPS, if not, hit the repair shop before it quits completely. Could just be a loose EPS connector. Some helpful checks on youtube before you have to take it in.

I would check to see if your alternator is putting out the proper voltage at idle.
