Default 2020 RC 350 TPMS Sensor Problem

Hello - I bought my RC 350 used and when driving home from another state, a TPMS warning came on - not the normal low PSI but a "system malfunction" warning. I figured it would be covered under warranty, so I went to the dealership. They said aftermarket sensors were installed, so $800 to replace.

So, I got the Carista app and programmed all the sensors into the car - still same problem.

I took it to discount tire instead. The removed the ones in there. Two tires had PMV-E000 sensors, and two tires had PMV-C010 sensors. They installed 4 new sensors, gave me the ID's, and I programmed them in with Carista. Still didn't work - no more TPMS failure, but the PSI does not show on the dash.

Then, they said they put two of the wrong ones in, put new ones in, and told me I shouldn't need to program anything, just drive. I did that, and still - no PSI on the dash.

Does anyone know what the right part numbers are in the RC 350? I found this web page with a couple options, but they all say "OEM Part Number Check Required from dealer" for the 2020 RC 350. Not for the years before or the years after.

https://www.tpms.com/2020-Lexus-2020...PMS-s/9941.htm

This is driving me bonkers. Anyone have any ideas? I know it is not a huge deal to have TPMS not working as long as the light is not on the dash - I can check my pressure manually. But, I want my RC 100% functional.

There are a lot of oem sensors that will program and turn the tire light off but only a few different ones will actually show pressure

I find it very odd for a 2020 model having a non-oem tpms, unless the car came with aftermarket wheels then that is a different story.

Anyways, LexusPartsNow has this in stock.

https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...tra2=&filter=()

Amazon also has it for a lower price

Amazon Amazon

I bought 4 of these for my 17RC's second set and they are working great. No issues whatsoever. I suggest just buy them, come back to discount tire and have them replace it again.

Sorry to hop in and piggy back this thread, but will the RC's allow two sets of tpms sensors for summer/winter wheels?

The 2016 NX200t I had would not allow it.

Thanks!

I can only speak for a year 2017 model, which is NO. I got two sets and had to program every swap.

Funny coz the 2008 IS350 has two slots.

That's what I was afraid of, I doubt it's changed on the 19.

And it also sounds like the TPMS sensors I put in my aftermarket wheels for the NX will not work on the RC either. They are P/N - 42607-30100.
At $60 a pop I may just leave those sensors in and not worry about the TPMS for the summer wheels on the RC.

Thank you for the info!

If you can tolerate that light on your dash, sure, don't worry about it. I however have this tendency of always glancing on those meters so I can't stand a single yellow/red light on my dash.

Any luck with this or can you provide the instructions on how to program in Carista? I bought a set of Denso sensors from Rockauto for my new wheels and my local tire place is saying they need some sort of code to program them to my car. 2020 RC 350 F Sport.

The ID’s for the sensors are printed on them. If they are already installed you are going to need to find a shop with a tpms scan tool to read and program the ids to the car.

I can get the IDs for them. From the FB group it sounds like I need to program them myself with Carista or find a shop that is comfortable with it. No idea why the local tire place can't do it.

Following up on this I went to several tire shops who confirmed the car was programmed properly for the Denso sensors but they would not work. Thankfully I was able to get the original sensors back that I sold with the stock wheels and they work perfectly. Now I'm trying to get a refund from RockAuto.
