Question Trying to hear what the Mark Levinson can do.

Hi, I am a 2017 Lexus RC owner with ML system desperately trying to play HDtracks music in my car. I down loaded a 2022 Hi-Res Sampler [96kHz · 24bit] collection on HDtracks site to my MacBook M1 and the music plays on the MacBook and plays off the USB stick in the Mac but I am having no luck getting it to play in my car off the USB stick. The music is FLAC audio [96kHz · 24bit] averaging 100MB per song. Any suggestions?

I am looking for a way to play lossless surround sound music in my Mark Levinson 7.1 surround sound system. Currently I have several ways to play my favourite music through the system in a stereo format but 7.1 surround sound is different?

If there is any Audiophile out there with a RC who have found a way to play lossless surround sound music or HDtracks please let me know. I'm not looking for a way to play a MP3.

I play lossless using my LG V60 using the 3.5mm jack aux but considering the acoustics of the car and road noise, it's pointless to listen to lossless. And the car's speakers aren't of the same quality as our RX set up.

I sub to Amazon UltraHD and play their FLAC 24bit 96Hz+ tracks on the ML7.1
The head unit of the ML is actually a PIONEER deck, to it has a pretty good DAC.
What you need to try is adjust the Equalizer and Surround Setting.
This is what I did my my ML settings
The equalizer is best set below 0db , leave surround ON (cause i think the ML DSP is tuned for that)
You should crank past 45 level to wake up the speakers

good luck

I have had no luck trying to play FLAC tracks using USB stick on my 2017 RC. I have been told and read in the manual that the USB does not recognize FLAC, I believe in newer models it works so I'm limited to the CD/DVD option.

IF you have a decent current mobile with a good DAC or Bluetooth Profile, you should be able to play from your phone via 3.5mm audio jack (analog transfer) or bluetooth (digital transfer). If your phone has a good internal DAC (min 24bit), then your will get higher fidelity via the 3.5mm jack.

I agree about reading from usb sticks, I had the same problem with WAV files. Hence started using Amazon Ultra HD service from my phone

Are you able to get something other than stereo from the Amazon Ultra HD service?

I assume you are connecting iPhone to head unit via Bluetooth so the stream remains digital and the ML head unit can decode the stream and convert digital to analog.

i have a ton of 5.1/7.1 records in flac format that I could convert to DVD-V and get surround sound to play that way as I’ve seen others mention in threads.

Im just curious if you have any advice on getting surround sound working from some digital source.
