Green light in my windshield wiper control arm

I've had this car for 1.5 years and it was never on before today. Anyone know what it is for?

Auto mode for the wipers. Wipers will turn on automatically if the sensors spot water dropping on the windshield. I have to always turn it off when I enter touchless carwashes.

Auto mode, you turn it on and off by pressing the button on the very end of the stalk.
