Default Coating a Novel Exhaust System in Ceramic

Anyone with a Novel exhaust system have it coated in ceramic? I'm considering having it done to the entire thing - manifold, center pipe, and valved rear twin muffler. As I understand the process by Jet-Hot, it entails baking at 750°F+ at least 2 times. Should I be worried about how this might affect the sound? Could the heat potentially damage the actuator?

Coating the Exhaust Manifolds or Headers is common and a recommended procedure. My PPE headers are ceramic coated. But, personally I don't see much advantage in coating the entire system. Quality exhaust piping today is pretty good at heat dissipation and longevity. However, I can see no reason not to coat the entire system if is that is your desire. The valves and actuators should withstand the heat process because they are aft of the mufflers and the mufflers can reach 500° F. For comparison the temperature at the headers can reach 1200° F.

Agree with other replies. Only coat the headers and leave the rest bare. Or if you're heart is set on the rest, stop with the mid pipe, or find a way to remove the actuators so they don't get damaged. Those things usually have rubber seals and diaphragms that won't exactly to well in high heat.

Definitely coat the headers, the amount of heat my ceramic headers produce is already insane. Can't imagine what it would be like without it. Rest of the exhaust would not benefit, would be visual enhancement only,

This is a great idea, I have never thought about because cerakote is lots of times used in gun coating. Seems the cerakote may even reduce heat more than Ceramic.

Just picked up some Novel headers for my GSF and am leaning toward Jet Hot, although it seems the difference in uses cases for a street car daily (my use case) are splitting hairs re: Swain, Jet Hot, and Cerakote V series. Only reason I am considering Jet Hot is they coat both outside and inside which doesnt seem to be the case for others? Although I guess you would just ask either Swain or whoever is doing your Cerakote to do the same. Any reason to NOT go with one over the others?
