Anyone else experience loss of rear speaker volume with the premium Mark Levinson system? I bought my car used and the previous owner replaced the Mark Levinson amp with a Toyota amp that’s designed for a different Lexus model , so I wondered if that might be where my problem lies. The rear subwoofer works and all front speakers, but no sound from my rear seat speakers or the back window area. I’ve looked online and can’t find any replacement amps for my car. 2019 10th Anniversary Edition , 11,200 miles Matte Nebula Gray Fuji Blue interior Performance Pkg Carbon roof and power wing INVIDIA titanium exhaust This is the amp currently in my car but upon research, it belongs to a different Lexus model without the premium ML Audio that my car came with.
That's too bad. The ML system is great but has costly repairs from what I've seen on this forum. Likely the previous owner did not want to fork over the cash for a new ML amp. Always send that stuff out for repair to avoid the insane replacement cost IMO.
11k and problems with the amp? Seems odd. Maybe try sourcing a new/used amp off eBay?
previous owner barely drove it but I think there was water intrusion in the area of the trunk where the amp is located, which is above the rear wheel, a really dumb place in my opinion, so they opted for the cheaper amp. Being that everything else works fine except the rear speakers I’m wondering if the wrong amp just isn’t wired for all the extra speakers of the ML Premium system? My nearest Lexus dealer is an hour away so I may try the local Toyota dealer.
When I look up the part number it says it’s made for a 2014-2017 Lexus IS250, non premium system. So it’s definitely not made for my car. The one you posted from eBay is probably a better match , but it doesn’t include the RC F in fitment choices, so I’m worried the harness won’t match. Ahhhh so frustrating! The one I need from Lexus is back ordered and costs $2,000. Ridiculous.
