Insurance Rates
My RCF rate has gone up about 35% since over 7 years for full coverage, however my Corolla dropped 20% over 2 years. The agent thought it may be due to high Lexus theft in communist Canada. I know the RX has been the top stolen model in Canada, don't know of any F stolen.
Higher coverage for a depreciated asset is tough. Over 10 years that's another brand new car. Anyone tracked their insurance increases for their F?

Yeah, in Calgary Alberta my insurance has gone up for all three cars. RCF, RX450h and IS350 F-Sport unfortunately. I was expecting it to go down as these cars got older and my record stayed clean. My record is completely spotless, but they say more people are driving like idiots meaning claims are going up so people like me who have done nothing wrong, also need to chip in for those idiots. Sad reality.
Though, the Alberta government is going to put a cap back on for people who have clean records so that insurance companies could not gouge people like me.

Bought my RCF April of 2022 and mine has gone up too with every renewal even when my record was clean for 15+ years. I did recently get a speeding ticket so it’ll be interesting to see what the next premium rate looks like.

All of our vehicles rates are up too. This happens if claims are up. Not us making claims...increased # of claims in general.

My rates have went up in MD unexpectedly as well. No accidents or violations. My insurance company rep advised that this is due to increased natural disasters recently. Insurance companies have been taking a hit, and this is to recoup costs unfortunately.

Trust me. I have a broker that does all of the shop around. I also get a corporate discount and group discount (3 cars) through my company, but still even after getting multiple quotes it ended up being the same company I am with since the other companies were even worse. While my insurance company has been steadily increasing my rates, it is even worse with other companies.

Never heard of them. I don't think we have these. If I told you the names, you probably would not recognize them as they are not in the US exxept maybe, State Farm.

Chubb is avail in Canada. My neighbour has them.
In Ontario we have “no fault” insurance which has done nothing but cause rates to rise.
My renewal is soon so I’m curious what it is going to be. But it sounds like we are getting lumped in with the RX crowd who have an extremely high theft problem in Ontario and Quebec.
You can always increase your deductible to lower your rates. I believe I have mine around $5k to
make it as cheap as possible.
Ive found banks to be the cheapest for cost typically. I’d stay the hell away from anything that is done online only.

I use Costco's broker.
Watched a couple of twitter vids, and FL drivers also getting hit (not just home insurance).
So looks like overall we can blame "INFLATION", sadly like taxes this will stay flat or higher until we have another financial reset.
