Revisited: Doug Demuro’s take on the RC F
We’ve all seen Doug Demuro’s RC F review on YouTube. It was controversial here in the forum to say the least. His review has over 3 million views on YouTube. This is mostly because of the comedy of errors in his review.

Doug has not reviewed another RC F since. Not the refreshed RC F, not the Track Edition. It would be great to see him do a review of either of these RC Fs.
In Doug’s defense, RC F sales were already in decline before his review. Doug posted his review in July 2018. Since 2018, RC F sales have remained steady at about 200-300 sold per year in the US market.
Doug’s car auction website has sold several RC Fs. Each listing has a “Doug’s Take” section. Below are some excerpts. It seems his take on the RC F is much more positive now.
Doug’s Take March 2024
”The Lexus RC F is a stylish coupe with a luxurious interior – and it boasts a muscular naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine with typical Lexus reliability.”
Doug’s Take September 2023
”I love the Lexus RC F, as it's a fantastic coupe with handsome looks and a luxurious interior – and it boasts a potent naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 combined with typical Lexus reliability.”
Doug’s Take July 2020 RC F Track Edition
”The RC F Track Edition really is the ultimate RC – and, frankly, the ultimate high-performance Lexus since the LFA. This one looks pretty clean, with an accident-free history, very low miles, and a seller who says he's never abused it.“

Yeah this has nothing to do with his actual opinions, the dude is just promoting his own business. Also Doug and most other car journalists don't understand Lexus or their customers at all. It's amazing how almost every single one of them completely misses the whole point of Lexus and cars like the RCF. It's hard to understand the appeal when you are in their position, the reasons people buy Lexus just don't matter to someone with their perspective.
