Jeremy Clarkson “Quite Likes” the Lexus RC F
http://lexusenthusiast.com/2014/02/0...he-lexus-rc-f/
The new season of Top Gear starts tonight, so it’s only fitting to share what presenter Jeremy Clarkson said about the Lexus RC F on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/JeremyClark...tream_ref=10):

Hate to admit I quite like it.

If Clarkson’s transformation from Lexus-basher to reluctant Lexus enthusiast shows anything, it’s that the brand’s new focus on performance & design can convert even the most die-hard skeptics — proof that the magic of the LFA works on anyone.

(Can’t wait to see the RC F feature on Top Gear!)

He still to this day says Lexus LFA is "the best car I have ever driven" and also that he keeps a picture of an LFA in his wallet.

I am sure he will love the RC-F. Yes, he was not a fan of the IS-F, but I am sure the RC-F will work its magic since it is an evolutionary improvement over the years from the IS-F. I reckon, this time around there is a good chance RC-F might beat the M3/M4.

In yesterday's broadcast, the RC-F was featured in the News segment--during which both James May and Clarkson were quite enthused about it.

I bet if Jeremy tests the current isf he will like it. The ISF has had some pretty significant improvements over the years. I think he'll like the RCF as well because it was designed to be a drivers car like the LFA. What I don't think will happen is the RCF beating the m4 though.

I also like the RCF. But RCF alone sounds well kind of tacky

RC500F sounds nice

Why not?

Current IS beats current 3 series as a driver's car as it stands. Both RCF and M4 are derived from the IS and 3 series chassis.

Unless BMW seriously upped their game for the M4, the RCF may well have the beating of the M4.

He is an adrenaline junkie. His most favorite car of all times happens to be a Lexus as well.

If the RC-F turns out to be as exciting as everyone is anticipating, he will absolutely love it.

I think he should get to test the pre production model first so he can give Lexus his first driving impressions.

The RC F has the same basic drive line as the early IS F he crapped on. He especially hated the 8 speed gearbox, which by now has quite a few imitators, and shifts faster than just about anything but a F1 car. BTW, I own a '11 IS F, and love it. There's something special about the Yamaha F1 program tuned Lexus V8. IMO Lexus did an excellent job on the IS F as a complete package, with more track development than any other car in Toyota history. Initial IS F comparisons would have been much better had the 2011 revisions-the Torsen LSD and suspension changes which transformed the car, and should have been there initially. I will also own a RC F, regardless of what falls out of Clarkson's mouth. Every time he drives a BMW, I can't help but wonder if they keep a new model or two in his garage, replaced frequently. Of course, these guys never have to worry about repairs, which is definitely something to consider for we mere mortals. Competition is good, and it's about to get better.
