Definitely disappointing #s and pricing is higher than M4.
When did Lexus start charging for Metallic Paint?????

The F brand has no following or much of an existing customer base.
//M, AMG have generations of cars plus loyal enthusiasts worldwide, its a very tough proposition for Lexus to win those customers over if the F cars continue to be higher priced and offer less performance.

Badge equity and aftermarket support play a huge part for this niche of cars....

1 - So is the first test out yet or is that merely speculation? Your disappointment is really something your mind really wants to believe in.There is not a single test out there yet where you can support your "disappointment" with concrete proof.

2 - Pricing is higher? Since when did a slightly lower price for a base stripped out model compare to a fully loaded RC-F become a valid comparison? The RC-F interior is far more exquisite and contains much higher end equipment and it comes with 50 more horsepower as well.

3 - I think most of us perspective RC-F owners would not consider the M4 simply because of the *****ty engine/exhaust playing through speakers that BMW gave it. Not to mention, the base engine used to develop the S55, is actually the basic 335 engine. Heck, I would ask BMW a big discount just for putting up with that cr*ppy sound day in and day out.

Lexus doesnt charge you $1000-3500 for leather, $1900 for LED headlights, make you buy a $4000 package to get back up camera and push button start, $1200 for 19" wheels, if you want blind spot monitors another $1900 package, ventilated seats not even offered on M3/4. All of these are standard on the RCF.

Lol

Ye but Lexus charges u $10,000 to get the CF goodies which come STANDARD on the M4.
BTW M4 has much MORE CF parts than the RCF.

Most enthusiasts care more about the perf parts than rear camera or leather dash....
Also push button start is standard so is NAV.

the nav comes standard on RCF too. People dont care about backup cameras? Its one of the most useful options you can buy. Making you buy a $4000 package to get access to an that you can get individually from lexus for $350 or is included with navigation packages - standard on RCF and M. Not only that you get some options that are completely worthless for a lot of people like HUD, headlight washers and heated steering wheel

These luxury features are a lot more useful than CFRP roof, and strut bar

I had the seat as low as it would go but still felt that I had to duck slightly to see ahead, although my head was a good 1.5” from the head lining.

But if I had raised the seat higher it would have made looking ahead even harder.
This would be a real deal breaker for me. Any other 6'-0" drivers out there had a chance to sit behind the wheel and check out the line of sight?

Thanks!

I also am loving the Hellcat but it's apples to oranges.

Lol!!

Lexus does very well in the U.K. You can stop with the anti Lexus drama the car will sell just fine.

I know the prices can't be directly transferred between markets. But it's still not over £100k for a RC F with CF package. The CF package adds £8'000 to the price tag, not £67'995.

Not as well as the Germans but Lexus have shown that they dont really care for sales too much. They want quality, reliability and exclusivity which are its main selling points. Now we can add power and styling to the list!

Just for comparison, a BMW M4 DCT - £59,135
  • Aluminium trim - £300!!!
  • Active security pack - £855
  • M-head up display - £825
  • Harmon Kardon - £675
  • Front Armrest - £140
  • LED headlights - £1600
  • Comfort Access - £495
  • Reversing Camera - £330

Total Price - £64,355.

An RC-F with metallic paint and ML + TVD would be £65,120. Its slightly more than the M4, but of course is better quality, has more tech and has amazing details like the seats and the speedo. Also, who wants to bet that Lexus will give a greater discount?!

eliminating the sunroof with the CF roof should give a couple more inches of headroom

Hellcat, GT500 and others are legitimate competitors to M4, RC-F, RS5 and others. They go head to head in performance and price. You can tip the scale to luxury manufacturers claiming premium technology and fit and finish but how much more premium are entry luxury cars over others inside of the cabin? In my opinion not by much.

Don't forget the £67,995 includes the carbon fiber hood, which the US model will not have. So that's about ~£6000 (if the hood really cost $10,000) savings right there!
