In Australia, it's compulsory to have front plates. I think the spindle grilled F Sports thus far looks fine with them, and we have the option of slim line plates or plates with different backing colours, so it's easy to have plates with a black background that melds into the spindle grill mesh.
I think the purpose of the Grimm Speed plate holder is not to have any holes cut into the bumper. Does the RC have tow hooks in the front?
The point is, unless it is for a show car, where you only put on that plate when you are driving it on the road, and the car spend a lot of time just sitting somewhere on display without the plate, a car that is driven daily or frequently where you should legally have that front plate does not really help aesthetically even without the drilled holes
The GrimSpeed License Plate holder will not fit on the RC-F. The RC-F has a opening inside the dark grill area, but the Grimspeed rod needs to be approx 3-4 inches longer - you can probably extend it with some threaded rod and nuts. I thought it looked okay the way it is now (in the middle)
Tow hook cover on the RC-F
Tow hook removal from the left side - using pry tool
Inside the tow hook compartment
Grimspeed tow hook license plate holder (from previous IS) rod inserted fully, but not tightened
^ I thought the tow hook was in an unusual place too... so I got one of those manual hideaway license plate mounts but havent had the time to install it... and not to keen on drilling the bottom of my bumper...
Can someone tell me how these factory license plates are attached to the front bumper? I'm buying in VA but licensing it in FL and there isn't a front plate requirement in FL. I'm hoping the VA dealership didn't drill holes into the bumper because I know they have a plate mounted to the vehicle already.
WHY would you drill holes if it's Not a Requirement?
if you reread toystry's post, you will see that he's getting a car in VA that already has the plates on, and he's asking how it's done. hence my answer

^^ What he said...
During the PDI process the tech installs the bracket with two self tapping screws in a pre marked spot (dimpled)
Statistically, the odds actually don't increase each day since each day is a new roll of the dice. But it sure feels like the long arm of the law is gonna' reach out and touch you sooner or later. You never know if/when some higher up in PD is gonna' wake up one morning and say to themself, "... we really need to crack down on these scoff-laws without front plates...". It could happen.
