Hi - as an old guy and a new member forgive me if I am not following forum rules.
You do say contact you for more information on your RCF spare wheel solution hence this email.
Your guidance would be appreciated.
Regards
Terrance

See post #28 now. It was sitting in awaiting moderation, it is now visible with compleat photo evidence it works.

Will be testing the IS F spare on the GS F tonight. If it works, there's little doubt it would work on the RC F as well.

Default Spare Wheel

I read your solution with great interest and it seems that it may well be more convenient than mine. Your solution looks as though it will allow the existing boot floor to be retained which is obviously desirable.
Obtaining the spare itself is not a problem but I looked into the possibility of sourcing an adaptor here in the UK without success.
I have been unable to access your posting with pictures which I would like to read.
I have tried my spare wheel on the car and driven a few miles without a problem so it does the job.
Did your fitting of the wheel on your car go well?

I read that the front disc diameter on the ISF is 14.2". The RCF is just shy of 15" with very large Brembo calipers.

So I got distracted last night and didn't test fit until tonight. Survey says, not no, but hell no, the IS F spare rim will NOT clear the GS F front brakes. It is not a good option at all unless you want to damage the paint on your calipers while attempting to put on a rim far too small to clear the caliper. Given the calipers on the RC F and the GS F are identical, it's pretty safe to say the IS F spare will NOT fit on the RC F.

So 45.8 lbs. (spare tire) + 9 lbs. (jack w/tools) = 54.8 lbs. of unnecessary weight
does it sit flush with the cover so that the trunk has all the space to use?

Re-Hashing this - due to recent tire failure on my 2004 SR made me think of my RCF which has no spare at all.

My Volvo SR spare is modified from factory to clear the large Brembo, ordinary Volvo S60 spare steely would not fit the SR, again due to Brembo. You can see the Volvo SR/VR spare and the protruding wheel face so it clears the Brembo.

So did searching, I like the idea of Audi Skinny with hub adapter but full wheel would satisfy the majority of crowd especially if we can keep it beneath the factory floor flap.

The Guam spare wheel sticks up a lot, 4.5 inch I think, and expensive. So I started thinking of our 19" wheel and +50 offset and a few matches came up with a wheel thinner than 9" wide and that was a Mazda CX-5 (19" rim +50 offset and only 7 wide). I'm trying to find one locally to test fit.

If it was ordered or bought in Hawai'i, then yes, Gulf/Remote areas are required by law to have a spare tire (Guam, etc). However, personally, I dont like the factory option as it minimizes the already small trunk.

I might have one tomorrow, found a salvage yard with a high optioned CX-5, going to see if its still availble.

I have a compact spare wheel & tire setup for sale in the marketplace - fits in the well under the trunk floor perfectly. I apparently need a "voucher" to keep it posted, so if anyone would be kind enough to do that I'd really appreciate it.

This might be the largest spare tire lexus has that might clear bbk. 42611-30F40

Edit: I found the solution. bbk spare tire issue that some people have.
just use any OEM 19x4 spare tire with 5x114.3 lug and the correct center bore.

I didn't get a voucher so my ad was pulled, but it's still for sale. And it looks way better and is more functional than the full-size that eats up trunk space. PM me for details.

Has anyone tried to see if this solution will clear the rear calipers?
