I was the prototype/development vehicle for the afe intake. I can tell you that I was there for the before and after dyno. I have a video posted online of the dyno and the dyno graph which is not manipulated to show more hp/tq gains to sell more units. AFE facility is extremely high tech and the amount of work and time that went into this intake was about 6 months. I can tell you the intake looks so beautiful in person and the intake is a completely different design and setup than the one that was tested and made for the ISF. The box has a faux glossy carbon fiber look and a blue tube. This one has a different filter, vacuum sealed box, and different size piping. Wheel horsepower was 6hp increase but wheel torque was 17tq increase which was very noticeable. I do not work, sell, or get any benefit from promoting their product. I just want everyone to get the most out of this vehicle. The intake sound is of course an added benefit and the throttle response is better as well. I tested this intake on my car for about 2k miles. No doubt it works. Honestly torque is the only noticeable feel in my opinion. Car pulls harder in low gears. The HP increase is hard to tell, but I torque is what is where this car struggles anyways. I will be having them do another dyno here soon now that I have I/H/E.

Some good insight, thanks. Does the Takeda system use the OEM active sound control? Is that why it uses the vacuum sealed box?

Vacuum sealed was to eliminate heat soak. ASC isnt a feature on the RCF I thought....

It does have ASC. There's a vacuum operated plunger switch that opens a flap on the intake box.

The ASC is only active in Sport + mode.

I think you're confusing the two different systems..

The engine air intake flap opening & closing at 3,600 rpm has nothing to do with the "Active Sound
control" system Speaker & Equalizer in the interior.

Noted, not ASC but some type of sound enhancement.

Yes the "Dual Air Intake System" debuted in 2008 on the 2UR-GSE motor

2008 Lexus IS F

For more details on RC F "ASC" see this thread below...

Lexus RC F to employ "ASC" - Active Sound Control for Interior Cabin..!!

^^ As mentioned this function only operates in Sport S+ Mode

What happened to the titanium intakes for the RCF? Did they actually ever go into production?

Yes, that's what I put on mine not long after I got it in 15'. It was really over priced but I Loved the way it looked & it was Titanium!
