Nice. So you gave up on the Cup 2 racing slick tires? I also just got PS4S XL yesterday. Have not had time to play with the pressure to get the best out of them yet.
How do you compare the PS4S with the Cup 2 feel wise? Very interested in hearing your opinions o it.

My rear CUP 2's were almost gone, besides, they're not available in the 18" sizes that I wanted to run. And, I wanted something with better treadwear (300 vs. 180). The cups needed to be warmed up otherwise they slip a lot. These 4S's are awesome tires, almost comparable to the cup's (when warmed up) and they are ready right away. At 33 psi cold, 37-38 hot, the sidewall feel really stiff, I'm running 40 series fronts and 35 series rears. A little more pronounced road noise at first and then they either quieted down after break-in or I've gotten used to them. Either way, they aren't loud tires. HTH.
Yeah, I just got them put on yesterday. Thanks for sharing. I have adjusted the tire pressure to 37 PSI front and 39 PSI rear on OEM size. I am go to try that out. The shop had them at 34F/34R, which did not quite feel right so I bumped it up and will take it for a spin in a few days. Once warm, they don't go higher than 39F/41R as it does not get that hot here. Great to hear you have had great experience with Pilot Sport 4S. Hopefully, as they break in, I will get the same very aggressive feel with these tires.

Air temperature has little to do with the running temperature of the tire. It's all about how you use them. For the small rise you are seeing in pressure, you're not getting the tires very warm at all. Cold pressure for track use is 32 - 33 psi, hot pressure will be ~42 psi on normal air. Less on dry nitrogen.

Just giving my observations based on what I see in front of me (TPMS) and how I think the tires behave. The CUP's definitely need more temp to start to stick really good. I imagine I’ve never even really used them at full potential.
