My S63 doesn't make the fuel pump noise. Glad its not my DD if we just need to live with the noise and enjoy the car.
A fix is coming...hang in there. There's nothing wrong with the majority of the noisy pumps.

On Monday, April 11th, I left a message for my contact at the Executive Offices of Lexus requesting an update regarding the RC F fuel pump issue. I received a message yesterday, April 18th, that they were out of the office last week. They said they will check with the quality team for any developments and follow up with me later this week.

The sound some folks hear IS NOT related to a bad pump. Look for an announcement and fix soon--all I can say now.

I cannot speak for all of the other RC F owners who say they have a bad fuel pump that is making that loud annoying noise. I can tell you that in late January this year my car was inspected by the dealership's diagnostic specialist who told me my car has a bad fuel pump. They replaced it. The very next day, after putting a total of 12 miles on the car after the replacement, my car was making the same noise but substantially louder. I took it back to the dealership and the diagnostic specialist told me that the replacement fuel pump was bad too. They said they will not replace that one because all the fuel pumps they have are the same and would most likely have the same problem. I was told I have to wait for Lexus to come up with some sort of "fix".

For the last couple of months I have been in contact with the Executive Offices of Lexus here in Torrance, CA. I posted an update on 3/25/15 (post #272) where I mentioned what I was told at that time. They said "So far there have been no updates in terms on any enhancements."

I should receive another update this week from the Executive Offices of Lexus. As soon as I do, I will update everyone on forum.

Glad to hear that. I dont remember saying there was anything wrong with the pump, just that its annoying and took eight months to appear. So to me, that is an issue.

An update on our car- only been putting Chevron or Texaco in it (no more Shell) and never driving in Eco mode anymore. No more noise.
I don't know if its the additives Shell uses but it seems likely. Since day one, my wife has been driving in Eco mode probably 99% of the time. Never heard the pump noise til we started using Shell.

My wife gave me more info when she could hear the fuel pump. Never happened on a cold start in the morning when going to work or when she leaves work. After work, she would run errands and the noise would start about one minute after the warm restart and continue the whole drive.

I just received an update from the Executive Offices of Lexus, about 20 minutes ago. This is what they said....

"Our technical team is still in the process of addressing this matter. There is a possibility of a countermeasure by this summer...hopefully. Many parties including our staff in Japan are aware and eager to launch a remedy."

Default 15K+ miles so far, no issues

The only time I heard a noise was around 3K miles. I had been driving it mostly in Sport+ mode but wanted to try out "Eco" mode for a week to see what kind of gas mileage I could get. Maybe it was coincidence but it seemed that the noise started the same day? Call me superstitious but since then I'm in Sport+ mode the majority of the time, except when I take a long trip under cruise control.

For me there's only two modes I'm driving..."+" or rarely, eco. Enjoying my RCF down here in So. Cal.

Just want to let all of you know I have not given up on the fuel pump issue. I just sent another request to the Executive Offices of Lexus....a request for an update since it has been another 3 weeks since I last heard from them.

What are the Top 3 brand of fuel do you use? I'm guessing 91 octane all the time. In the gas station that you go to, did they post ethanol content?

For the first 10 months I only used the 91 Octane at the 76 Station. No problems with fuel pump noise for 9 1/2 months. Since then I have tried Chevron and Mobil (no Exxon here in Torrance, CA)...both 91 Octane. I have not checked for the ethanol content.

Hi, Club Lexus Members

Good afternoon, how are you? I just hit 13,000 miles last night and no Problems at all. I have only used Shell 91 since driving off from Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA (July 2015). I am extremely fortunate not to have any major issues with the Rear Wing, Fuel Pump, or anything really bad. Yes, the Brembo Brakes slightly squeal but only once in awhile. Not a big deal because my music over floods the noise. Hehe..

I am also going to add that on my last service of 10, 000 miles. I did request for Synthetic Oil ONLY. On my 1st 5000 mile service, it was Free but I had to pay for the 10, 000 mile service. It was supposed to be free and I went back and forth with my Sales Manager and Service Reps. It was roughly $130 so it was whatevers. Anyways, hopefully, no more major issues for our RCF's. See you guys/gals in Escondido, CA for the "June F Event". Looking forward in meeting everyone going.

By the way, I have only seen 1 RCF driving around in the San Gabriel Valley Area. I see lots of RC350's and where are you, RCF'ers? Hehe.. ;-)

Regards,
Akiho (Bruce)
